Passion for Pizza
My first job at 16 was at a local ordinary pizza parlor near my childhood home, which I was fired for not following instructions. Although I was crushed, I knew I loved the action and the creative platform pizza can be and vowed one day to open a place of my own to do something unconventional. After experiencing sooo many mediocre pizzas and spending the rest of my life obsessed with food, climbing the culinary ladder and obtaining an eclectic knowledge of various cuisines, I can now bring it all together with pizza as a platform
Passion for beer
My first experiences with beer were simply for the purpose of getting wasted with my friends, not realizing beer could be so much more. While I was working as a chef at a local winery, immersed in the world of wine, my brother, Chris, was brewing beer at home. On one Mothers Day, he introduced me to the world of craft beer and how it had evolved into a huge movement across the globe. I was instantly obsessed with hops like every Californian at the time, in search of the next hoppy experience.
Passion for pairing
After working for so many years in the food and wine industry, I did'nt understand how it became such a stuffy and pretentious experience. I have a deep passion for fine food and drinks of all sorts, but think we should be able to enjoy the experience in flip flops and shorts and relax with our elbows on the table, and slouch! Sorry mom. Beer actually pairs with so many more foods than wine due to its low alcohol a toybox flavor profiles. The playing field for beer is a vast and exciting "choose your own adventure" experience that evolves just when you are ready for a change.
